Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani's social
engineering efforts are perhaps, nowhere more evident and markedly far-reaching
as in the field of education. The introduction of fully equipped District
Education Centres has lifted the drudgery that was hitherto prevalent
in the sector.

By delivering social amenities to the people and by investing massively in
education, Enugu State is planning assiduously for the future of our children
and equipping the grassroots to be involved in the socio-economic development
process.
Under Nnamani, education has regained its rightful place, as it holds the
key to the full realisation of the package of democracy dividends being unfurled
by the sterling foresight of Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani.
Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus
Even though the Law School at Agbani is a school that falls under the purview
of the Federal Government, the administration of Governor Chimaroke Nnamani
proceeded to provide physical structures, facilities and equipment worth
N800 million. The School was completed and handed over to the Federal Govt
in a record time.
Governor Nnamani said the gesture of developing the campus is predicated on
his government's deliberate policy of co-operating with the Federal Government
to give expression to the concept of a true and co-operative federalism.
Scope of Work at the Law School
The work done in the Law School consists of Digitalised Telephone Exchange
Block and equipment (N100 million); installation of a NEPA Transmission sub-station
(N3 million); provision of 350 KVA generator set; construction of blocks
of lecture rooms; male/female hostels; an administration block and offices;
principal staff quarters; medical centre; doctors quarters; streetlights;
a water network; campus roads; a multi-purpose auditorium with sitting capacity
for 650, etc.
The generous support given the Law School by Governor Nnamani's
administration was such as to compel a grateful and overwhelmed deputy Director-General
of the Enugu Campus of the Nigerian Law School, Mr. Ernest Ojukwu to
exult: "The light rekindled by Governor Nnamani in Agbani will shine
across Africa".
The Honourable Minister for Information and National Orientation, Professor
Jerry Gana who once paid an official visit to the Law School pointed
out that the transformation of the campus by Governor Nnamani was the
work of democracy. He expressed happiness that the students who showed
unhindered gratitude for the governor's efforts, that the difference
that has been brought to their lives, was as a consequence of democracy
and a focused governor imbibed with love for his citizens.
Professor Gana who was overwhelmed by the performance of the governor
and the warm reception accorded his team during their visit made a cash
offer of N100,000 to enable the Students Union to purchase three television
sets to equip their common rooms to enable the students to view their
tournaments live. He said that Enugu State has demonstrated clearly that
democracy is superior to dictatorship in its capacity to deliver development
and to ameliorate the suffering of the people.
