Nnamani Commiserates with Crash Victims
September 19, 2006

The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, has commiserated with the families of the crop of military generals, some other officers and airline crew, who perished in the air disaster at Ikyogen village, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

In a statement released in Enugu, the governor, who ordered all activities of state to be suspended in memory of the dead officers, prayed that God would grant the repose of their souls.

Urging the family to take their solace from President Olusegun Obasanjo's admonition to the nation not to mourn like "those who have no God," Governor Nnamani urged the family of the deceased to see death as a necessary end, which must come whenever it will come and that the top military brass' death was their own time.

The Governor thanked God for the lives of the survivors and prayed God Almighty to grant them quick recovery.
