Shun all forms of social vices, Nnamani Counsels

Governor Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu State has advised Nigerian students to shun all forms of social vices detrimental to their lives and the society at large. Governor Nnamani, who was represented by his Deputy, Chief Okechukwu Itanyi, gave the advice during the nation's 46th Independence Anniversary celebration at Okpara Square, Enugu. In his words, "you must shun cultism, you must shun prostitution, exam malpractices and all social vices that may bring shame to the state because without that, there is no way you can progress in life." The State Chief Executive urged the students to take their studies seriously and pledged his government's continued efforts to provide an enabling environment for education to thrive in the state. According to him, "there is no way you can succeed in life without working hard, being disciplined, doing everything possible to succeed in your education, because this government would do everything possible to provide the enabling environment for worthy endeavours to thrive." He expressed the hope that the incoming government would continue from the solid foundation laid by his administration to ensure the upliftment of the citizens. In his remarks, the State Commissioner
for Education, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, thanked the State Government
for the tremendous achievements recorded in
the area of education and other sectors of the state economy. Also, in the boys' secondary school category, Mea Mater Elizabeth High School, Agbani, took the 1st position, followed by Union Boys Secondary School, Awkunanaw, while Good Shepherd Seminary College, Independence Layout, Enugu took 3rd position. In the primary school group, Independence
Layout Primary School took the first position, W.T.C. Primary School,
2nd, and Zik's Avenue Primary School, 3rd position. |
