Nnamani hailed on nomination into PDP

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu, Chief Onyioha Nwanjoku, has congratulated the governor of the state, Chimaroke Nnamani, on his recent appointment as a member of the Board of Trustees of the party, by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party. Chief Nwanjoku, who made this disclosure and congratulations after returning from the NEC meeting of the PDP in Abuja, said that the governor's membership of the party's Board was a deserved icing on the cake for him, having piloted the affairs of the party in the state creditably well in the last seven and half years. According to him, the journey to the governor's membership of the Board started about six months back when, in appreciation of his leadership of the party, his name was forwarded to the party's hierarchy for nomination. He said that the party did not hesitate in approving Governor Nnamani’s nomination as its topmost leadership recognizes his great roles. "Governor Nnamani is a perfect person to occupy the position of member, Board of Trustees of the PDP. The nomination was approved at the last NEC meeting of the PDP", he said. According to him, by this nomination, Governor Nnamani is the member representing the state on the highly rated Board. "His membership of the Board of Trustees of the PDP is based on his performance as an astute leader of men. His pragmatic, dynamic and visionary leadership as head of our party in Enugu State was recognized by our party’s topmost hierarchy", Chief Nwanjoku said. Asked if Governor Nnamani's membership of the Board of Trustees of the party was indicative of his having inched closer to national leadership, the Chairman of the party responded in the affirmative, maintaining that it however would not affect whatever higher ambition the governor could nurse. According to him, even though advisory and not executive, the PDP board
membership is a leadership position in the party “that is bestowed
only on whom honour is due”.
