JUNE 7, 2004: ANOTHER BABCOCK HONOUR FOR THE GOVERNOR. Governor Chimaroke Nnamani was again celebrated by the Babcock University community in Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State with the conferment of the prestigious Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) Degree on the governor at an impressive ceremony which drew the attendance of distinguished personalities from many parts of the country, his friends, admirers, political followers, and a large crowd of Enugu and Igbo communities in both Lagos and Ogun States who came to identify with a governor that had touched their lives in so many ways. It was his third missionary journey to Babcock and his second award by the Seventh Day Adventist Church university which had in 2002 appointed him an adjunct professor of political science in recognition of the profundity of his Critical Consciousness Lecture Series in elucidating and engendering public discourse on the myriads of political problems bedevilling the country. It was indeed another homecoming for Governor Nnamani as every mention of his name at the ceremony elicited spontaneous applause from the students and staff of the university. Dr. Nnamani’s Seventh Day Adventist Church roots dates back to the top-flight Loma Linda University, Southern California, United States, where he specialized in maternal and fetal medicine. Here are some pictures of the event.
