SEPTEMBER 6, 2004: The British Secretary of State for International Development, The Rt. Hon. Hillary Benn paid a one-day working visit to Enugu State in furtherance of the strategic partnership between the Government of Enugu State and the British Department for International Development (DFID). The minister was received by Governor Nnamani, State Executive Council members, council chairmen, traditional rulers, NGOs, rural communities, and other stakeholders and beneficiaries of the Enugu-DFID partnership.
