JUNE 15, 2004: Enugu State was the choice of the Nigeria Police Force as the 'Pilot of all Pilot States' for the launching its Community Policing programme, an innovation in policing under a democratic setting sponsored by the DFID/British Council's Access to Justice Programme. The event was attended by the Inspector General of Police, top functionaries of the State led by Governor Nnamani, royal fathers, foreign donor agencies, NGOs and other civil society groups, students, as well as officers and men of the Nigeria Police.
