MARCH 17, 2005: An
interlude in Governor Chimaroke Nnamani's famous lecture
circuit had formed a period of vigorous pursuit
of sturdier infrastructure base for his beloved Enugu State, giving
birth to such ambitious projects as the permanent
site of the Enugu State
University
of Science and Technology, including its
teaching hospital and medical school, the Chime
Avenue road dualisation, the Nyaba
Bridge, Golf Housing
Estate, the Ebeano
dual carriageway tunnel crossing, the Loma
Linda housing estate, the international
conference centre, amongst many others.
But as it turned out, Governor Nnamani could not fend off his professional
colleagues as he had to respond positively to their invitation as Guest
Lecturer at the 2005 Annual Guest Lecture of the Institute of Child
Health, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu.
The venue was the Conference Hall of the Protea Hotels (Nike Lake
