DECEMBER 14, 2004: History was made in Enugu State with the swearing in of a new State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Innocent Azubuike Umuzuluike, whose appointment passed through the Enugu State Judicial Service Commission, the National Judicial Service Commission, the Enugu State House of Assembly and the final approval of the Governor of Enugu State. Governor Chimaroke Nnamani underscored the significance of the event when he recalled that the last time Enugu witnessed such an event under a democracy was the swearing in of Sir Louis Mabanefo as the Chief Judge of the defunct Eastern Region by the Premier, Chief Micheal Okpara, some 40 years ago. Here are pictures of the event, which was also witnessed by the Chief Judge and judges of the Ebonyi State Judiciary, Judges and Magistrates of Enugu State Judiciary, Royal Fathers and senior members of the Bar.
